Spiritual Development Firstly, it is important to honor the learning occurring in one’s life experiences (even the negative ones—for each contains some developmental gift). Therefore considerable therapeutic attention is given to one’s feelings, thoughts, and relationships. Your family of origin also reveals much about your particular development and needs. Secondly, your rapport with your own breath is important for it represents your relationship with life itself. Spiritual development includes breath training. I work with various types of breathwork. My personal experience and training, along with my master’s thesis, The Healing Power of the Breath, and research into Eastern, Middle-Eastern and Western breathwork forms have prompted me to found a large portion of our therapy upon breathwork. We might use deep breathwork during a therapy session and/or you may have a breathing practice prescribed as homework. The breathing practices are important for physical health, emotional release, mental clarity and clearing and spiritual awakening. Balancing our female and male selves is also important. Psychospiritual therapy includes enhancing our relationship with these basic selves, and developing a stronger partnership. Ancient alchemists pointed out the important of this balance as an important part of the journey towards wholeness. Developing a greater awareness of archetypal forces influencing your life is also an important part of the healing journey. Mantric sound, training in chakra awareness/healing and other practices may be included. I have received training in many of the world’s religious traditions (see Modern Psychology and Ancient Wisdom and other publications), and I use this knowledge where applicable in a way that respects and works with your own religious beliefs. Most importantly, our focus will not be that of moving away from the world, but rather one of entering more fully into it—developing your human potential. I am available for group workshops. Individual guidance takes place by Skype, email and/or phone. Email me to discuss at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
